About the Author
Michael K. Bender is an accomplished author of non-fiction, drawing on a distinguished career as a senior executive in high technology, laboratory, and medical products industries. He has held leadership roles—including CEO and president—in both U.S. and international companies, negotiating major licensing agreements in China and France and spearheading successful market entries with multimillion-dollar results.
Previously, Michael served as a Foreign Service Officer at U.S. embassies in Nigeria, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, commissioned by both the Department of Commerce and the Department of State. His international expertise continued as Senior Advisor to the Chairman of a leading Middle Eastern group, Director of International Marketing for a major Midwest consumer products company, and Executive Director of a European IT group.
Michael is passionate about education, and after retiring taught English as a Second Language and cultural studies to students from international organizations, as well as leading enrichment programs for grades 1–12 in Northern Virginia. He holds a B.A. in Political Science, an Executive Master’s Degree in General Administration, and a Certificate in International Law with First Degree with Distinction.
He has been a frequent international speaker, published globally on exporting and business practices, editor of an English translation of a Persian novel, and author of "Visual Exercises for Academic Vocabulary." Michael’s achievements have been recognized with the International Trade Administration’s Bronze Medal for Outstanding Professional Employee and the Winter Max Award for Distinguished Service from the Princeton Language Center.
